BAND BIO

Where once we played bars in downtown Salt Lake City late at night, now we record socially distant music from around the Pacific Northwest. New Origins is a remote band consisting of Gabriel Bugarin, Ross Richardson, and Alan Deeth. We decided to fill our time during the COVID-19 pandemic by remotely reconnecting, learning to record and master, and expanding our musical horizons with new and updated compositions.

Our work mixes narrative, visual, and musical elements to tell a broad overarching story. To this end, each album tells a part of a larger narrative. For inspiration, we pull from myriad media across the sci-fi, fantasy, cyberpunk, and solarpunk genres, among others. In particular, Archive of the Unbounded examines themes of synthetic life, class warfare, and self-actualization.
